The 10,000 trees were donated by the visitors at the stall of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) during the International Green Week, the biggest international fair of food, agriculture, and gardening industries. The event took place in Berlin from 17 to 26 January.

Visitors at the BMZ stall were invited to participate in games about the importance of trees and forests. As part of the games, BMZ donated trees to Tram Tau Protection Forest. The donation will contribute to Tram Tau Protection Forest Management Board’s existing forestation plan. The Management Board is currently collaborating with GIZ’s „Conservation and Sustainable Use of Forest Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services“ project.

By joining the international fair, BMZ demonstrated the connection between forests, climate protection, and agriculture. This is in line with the three pillars of BMZ’s international forest policy: to protect more forests, restore more forests, and develop deforestation-free supply chains.
