The German Embassy in Hanoi can fund micro-projects that aim at sustainably improving the living conditions of poor and marginalized communities, contributing to gender equality and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contained in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted in 2015

Projects are eligible for funding if:

  • local authorities have approved of the implementation of the project;
  • they can be completed within the calendar year in which the funding agreement was concluded;
  • the applicant contributes to the project by means of finances, labour, providing premises etc.;
  • the requested project aid ranges between 4,000 and 12,000 EUR (equivalent in VND depending on exchange rate); in exceptional cases funds can amount up to 25,000 EUR

Projects are not eligible for funding if:

  • the project results in recurring obligations for the Embassy (e.g. ongoing requirement to pay salaries or for consumer goods such as animal feed, medicines, substances/agents, paints, etc.);
  • the project has already commenced;
  • follow-up costs cannot be borne by the applicant or the project is expected to have effects for less than three years
